Both lost their homes in the fire and both nearly did not make it out alive. “The only reason I'm happy the fire happened is because I met Michael,” Lemmerz said. “Since that night he's always there to answer my calls and texts. He’s helped with my marriage, the rebuild, a few personal things, as well as insurance and clean up navigation. For the first time in 30 years, I have a dad.”
